What this site is

Craft & Prompt reviews the software that people use to actually make things: design tools, video editors, AI writing assistants, and the scheduling tools that get the work in front of an audience.

The audience I have in mind is specific. You are working on your own or with a couple of other people. You have a budget that is real but not generous. You do not have a procurement team, and you do not have time to run four trials in parallel to figure out which tool fits.

Who writes it

I am a working creator, not a software analyst. I make comics and short video, and I run the project side of that work — schedules, notes, task tracking — with the same categories of tool I write about here.

That shapes what this site is good for and what it isn’t. I can tell you where a design tool starts fighting you on the fortieth panel, or what an automatic video clipper does with a segment that has no clean cut point, because I have hit those walls on my own deadlines. I am less useful on enterprise procurement, team rollouts, or anything that needs a hundred seats. Different site, different writer.

How these comparisons are made

I want to be straight about method, because a lot of review sites are not.

• I separate what I have used from what I have researched.When I have used a tool, I say so and tell you for how long. When I have not, I compare it on documented capabilities, pricing structure, and limitations — and I do not invent a personal anecdote to make the writing warmer.
• Every tool gets at least one real drawback. A review with no downsides is an advertisement.
• I avoid quoting exact prices. Software pricing changes constantly, and a stale number is worse than no number. I describe the pricing tier and point you to the source.
• Rankings are not for sale. Some links here earn a commission. That has never determined an order or a recommendation, and the disclosure page explains exactly how it works.

Mostly through Pinterest and search. If you found something useful here, saving or sharing it is the whole business model.
